The City Charge

– a solar powered charger for smartphones -

 

 

The City Charge is a solar-powered battery charger for a smartphones and other mobile devises.
Since October in 2015, the Tokyo Metropolitan Center for Climate Change Actions has installed Japan’s first City Charge in three locations in Tokyo, including Tokyo Tower. Up to today, the number of the City Charges is increasing in TOKYO. Please find the City Charge and try solar power.

≪Features of stand-type≫

-Free to charge.

-English instruction for use is available.

-An adapter for several types of mobile devises is prepared.

    Cafeteria-type

    Locations:

    Three Starbucks stores (Ueno Onshi Park, Futakotamagawa Park, Machida Kanamori)

    -It’s free only for the customers to use.

    -It’s required the users to bring an USB-type adapter to use.

    -The local wood pruned in TOKYO is utilized as a material of the City Charge here.

     

     

    the features

    -An attached battery storage allows to use even at night and in a bad weather.

    -The pictogram shown below is displayed at the site of the City Charge.

    The center, together with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, is proactively promoting the use of renewable energy to create a “smart energy city”.

     

     

    ※The Tokyo Metropolitan Center for Climate Change Actions is an organization under the Tokyo Environmental Public Service Corporation designated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to undertake activities to raise public awareness based on the “Act on Promotion of Global Warming Countermeasures.”
